Spokane Candidates Climate Change Forum 2020
Date of Event
10-7-2020
Description
Gonzaga University’s environmental studies department hosted the Spokane Candidates Climate Change Forum on October 7, 2020, for voters to hear local candidates’ thoughts about the topic before the November election. Brian G. Henning, Ph.D., professor of environmental studies and chair of the department, moderated the “C3 Forum,” where each candidate had two minutes to respond to a question and then a minute for facilitation of further discussion. “As the climate crisis is one of the most significant challenges we face, Spokane voters are increasingly interested in learning about how local candidates will use their office to address the threat of global climate change,” Henning said about the event. “The C3 Forum was created to help inform Spokane citizens so that they can make an informed judgment at the ballot box.”
