Abstract
One source of job satisfaction manifests in the organizational leadership of the company. Executives are pulled in a multitude of directions, which can result in unsuccessful communication. This study provides a case study of a non-tribal casino resort in the western U.S that is increasing profits and taking marketing share, while experiencing a high turnover rate of employees. The findings illustrate a lack of efficient internal communication from the top down. The study extends on the current notions of contingency theories of leadership and research on effective communication in organizational structures to describe what is going amiss between leadership and internal communication at Property X.
