The Environmental Studies and Sciences department connects science with study of the historical, social, ethical, legal and political issues that affect our natural world and how we interact with it. The interdisciplinary department, featuring work in the humanities, social sciences, and life/physical sciences, provides an emphasis on the social and humanities-focused disciplines within the context of environmental issues, as well as on how biology, chemistry, and earth science interact within the broader context of society and environmental issues.
