Abstract
This is a story about serendipity, synergy and synchronicity. Thirty years ago, three lives converged as a result of a chance meeting. Their collective calling gave birth to a vision that has transformed three generations of leaders. Robert K. Greenleaf rose to a challenge from his economics professor to find ways to transform the dysfunction within large businesses and organizations by working from the inside. He captured the imagination of many with his seminal essay, The Servant as Leader. In it, he thoughtfully delineated a practical philosophy of leadership that was dramatically different from the traditional model of the "egocentric" or "boss" paradigm.
