Abstract
Today’s business market is an extremely agile environment where new technology commands industries to react faster in order to maintain a competitive edge. Organizations are looking for cost effective ways to allow their workforce to collaborate virtually and still accomplish tasks with the same velocity as face-to-face communication. This study investigates communication barrier that may exist among a multigenerational team using a Virtual World Conferencing tool to collaborate. Since Virtual World Conferencing is a rather new technology, it’s imperative to investigate whether or not the four generations in the work force will adopt the use of this technology for everyday business acumen. This research is critical for businesses to begin to examine solutions to virtual barriers and make decisions on what technology will take their organization into the future.
