Description
This paper presentation reports on some of the preliminary findings from a large, qualitative study, Combatting the Far Right in the Streets, Online and Around the World, (hereafter, CTFR), which seeks to identify the individuals, groups, and organizations that are working to quell the rise of the far right as street violence, through online platforms that accelerate the spread of violence globally. I, along with a team of researchers have conducted over one hundred indepth interviews with grassroots activists, community groups, reporters, filmmakers, podcasters, scholars, and attorneys who are engaged in this work. In this first report on the findings, I will provide an overview of key strategies that are proving effective and discuss the
roadblocks to implementing those strategies.
