Description

ADL has been advancing a mission of “stopping the defamation of the Jewish people and ensuring fair and just treatment to all” for over a century. ADL’s Pacific Northwest Office, based in Seattle, Washington, has been working on the ground for over 75 years to advance ADL’s mission in the region and deliver on the ground resources, programs, and services to communities impacted by hate and a wide array of stakeholders seeking to build more inclusive, safe communities. ADL’s unique vantage point of fighting not only on behalf of the Jewish community but all communities impacted by hate and advocating for civil rights gives our organization a unique expertise on the issue of antisemitism and how it connects to wider societal struggles.

As we navigate a polarizing political landscape with growing threats of antisemitism, various forms of hate, and rising domestic extremism, our workshop will seek to explore how antisemitism is manifesting in today’s climate, using ADL’s vast data points, anecdotes from local communities on the ground, and national events. We will examine how these manifestations are similar or different to the past, the connection between antisemitism and other forms of racism, and unique tools ADL is utilizing to fight this spreading form of bigotry.
